Glossary of Terms

Alphabet Tracing
The practice of writing over dotted or faded letters to learn letter formation and improve handwriting skills.
Beginning Blends
Two or three consonants at the start of a word that are pronounced together, with each individual sound still audible (e.g., 'bl' in blue, 'str' in street).
CVC Words
Stands for Consonant-Vowel-Consonant (e.g., cat, hot, sun, pin). These are simple, foundational words crucial for early reading development.
Cursive Writing
A style of penmanship in which letters are joined together in a flowing manner, generally for the purpose of making writing faster.
Flash Cards
